The Five Minute Interview with our CEO, Filip Karadaghi

8 Oct 2018 - Comment

Bridging Loan Directory, an online directory is aimed at IFAs, brokers and lenders has published an interview with our CEO, Filip Karadaghi.

Filip speak about his views on the bridging finance industry and also reveals several personal details.

The interview is reproduced below and also available in full here.

With a pragmatic approach where each case is assessed on its merits, LandlordInvest offers tailored bridging loans and buy-to-let mortgages to private individuals and companies across England and Wales.

LandlordInvest provide financing to borrowers who are having difficulties with obtaining finance from traditional lenders. They do not have any minimum income requirement as they believe that affordability is based on rental income, rather than personal income.

We speak to Managing Director, Filip Karadaghi:

What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?

This industry is growing rapidly and is very competitive. This means that we need to have quick execution times, while carrying out rigorous due diligence to come up with tailored loan solutions in a time efficient manner. This fast-paced industry brings a myriad of scenarios which require continuous problem solving to offer financial solutions to our clients – which is very exciting.

What keeps you focused?

I enjoy working hard and I am constantly looking for ways to develop and grow in business as well as personally. Developing the business into a well-established and well-known brand is a journey which keeps me focused and determined.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

Primarily, I am looking for a strong work ethic – an employee or colleague should demonstrate their ability to work hard. I also look for determination, and an ability to work through a problem and keep a positive attitude.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

Guiding your belief is important as it is a fundamental part in attitude. I do not think pessimism would bring me where I am today, so I have to say I am an optimist because my belief is in positive outcomes.

What did you want to be as a child?

Growing up in Moscow during the Soviet era, my dream was to become the president. I think it was something to do with the fact that leaders were glorified during those times and given that children are easily impressionable I wanted to be just as glorious as they seemed.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?

The uncertainty in parliament and the volume of new companies entering the marketplace resulting in a dilution of market share for existing lenders in this industry. However, over time the unsustainable lenders will be out which results in an increase in new business opportunities.

Who or what makes you laugh?

TV shows, movies and everyone I choose to surround myself with, especially my friends.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

I choose to believe that Monday’s are positive as they are the foundation of yet another successful week that lies ahead. I welcome Monday mornings with arms wide open!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I think an important part of personal development is accepting who you are and loving all aspects of yourself. Of course, there is always room for improvement.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

With Warren Buffet because of his immense wisdom, not only in finance but life in general.
