Total completed secondary market sales tops £5 million

14 Apr 2023 - Comment

LandlordInvest has now processed in excess of £5 million in secondary market sales, underlining the strong liquidity of the marketplace.

The exact data as of close of play 13 April 2023 shows that 9,060 transactions have taken place since we launched our secondary market in May 2017, totalling £5,008,467.57. Sale amount was an average of £552.81 with the highest being £56,725.00 and lowest being the minimum allowed sale of £100.00.

The market is widely used and to date 284 unique accounts have made a sale on the secondary market and 375 unique accounts have made a purchase.

In June 2020 we made it possible to optionally offer loan parts for sale at a discount so that they might try to expedite a sale if required. However such is the demand on the secondary market that since the new feature was made available only 140 completed sales with a value of £53,847.57 have leveraged it.

This accounts for only 4.3% of the 3,256 transactions since the feature was released and only 2.5% of their £2,189,330.57 total value.

The transaction frequency distribution by month of the year is as follows

MonthNumber of transactions
January761
February647
March905
April522
May452
June723
July863
August1,147
September1,001
October1,068
November551
December420

We can see a small spike in March, perhaps ahead of the tax year end. But the most active time has historically been during late summer and autumn.
